63 Officers Deputed For Shri Amarnath Yatra Management

JAMMU, June 16: Ahead of the annual Shri Amarnathji Yatra, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has temporarily deputed 63 officers from various departments to strengthen management and coordination arrangements for the pilgrimage. According to Government Order No. 1080-JK(GAD) of 2026 issued by the General Administration Department, the officers have been assigned duties as Camp Directors and Additional Camp Directors at various base and transit camps along the Yatra route.

The officers, drawn from the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service and other departments, have been directed to report to the office of the Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, on dates to be specified by the Board. Their camp postings will also be decided by the Shrine Board. During the deputation period, the officers will continue to draw their salaries from their parent departments and will return to their original places of posting after the conclusion of the pilgrimage.

Among those deputed are ADC Samba Jagdish Singh, CEO Tourism Development Authority Patnitop Virender Kumar Manyal, Additional Secretary Jal Shakti Department Chander Parkash, Additional Secretary DMRRR Atul Kumar, Additional Secretary Tourism Department Vikas Dhar Bagati, Joint Director School Education Jammu Gurdev Kumar, Deputy Secretary Higher Education Department Vikas Sharma, Revenue Attorney Vishal Singh Parihar and several Block Development Officers, Child Development Project Officers, State Taxes Officers and other officials from different districts of Jammu division.

The government has directed all controlling officers to relieve the deputed officials in time to ensure smooth conduct of the Yatra. The deployment is part of the administration’s preparations to facilitate effective management, coordination and public services for the annual pilgrimage.
