Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Sangharsh Samiti (SMVDSBSS) has decided to intensify its agitation in protest against the admission of students from a single community into the MBBS course at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence.
On December 5th, the Sangharsh Samiti, along with its supporting organizations, will stage a massive protest against the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board at the Tawi Bridge. During the protest, the effigies of the Shrine Board members will be burned by the Samiti Members. Tomorrow, the Samiti members will meet with the Sadhu Samaj (saint community) to inform them how the Shrine Board has allegedly compromised the faith of Hindus.
These decisions were taken at the Core Committee meeting of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Sangharsh Samiti on Wednesday. The meeting was presided over by the Samiti’s convenor, Colonel Sukhvir Singh Mankotia. During the meeting, members discussed the strategy going forward, alongside a review of the protests held by the Samiti’s district units against the Shrine Board in the past few days since its formation. All members were unanimous that any compromise with the faith of Hindus would not be tolerated.
Col Sukhvir Singh Mankotia stated that their protest on December 5 will deliver an unmistakable message to the Board members: Reverse this decision immediately, or face the full force of a sustained and wide-reaching public movement.”
Parshotam Dadhichi, president of Shree Sanatan Dharma Sabha, added that Shree Sanatan Dharma Sabha stands in complete solidarity with the Sangharsh Samiti. The decision must be overturned without delay, he added.
Karan Singh Wazir (Transport Union), Baldev Singh (Bar Association), Deepak Gupta (Traders Federation Nehru Market), R K Chibber (former Chairman JK Bank), Abhishek Gupta (VHP), Rajan Singh (Yuva Rajput Sabha), Sanjay Gupta (general secretary SDS), Shilpi Verma, Akshay, Preeti Choudhary, Akshi Baloria, Advocate Deepak Sharma, Subhash Jandial and several others were also present.
